Jackson's First Birthday

The first weekend in March we went to Little Rock for Adam's (and my new) nephew's FIRST birthday party.  His mother set out to make a "monkey" cake, but found that she didn't have the right food coloring, so...  it ended up being more of a "gorilla" cake.  Ha!  She also made Jackson his own little "treetop" cake, that one grandpa said looked like broccoli.  I thought the cakes were very clever, and everyone enjoyed eating them... ESPECIALLY the birthday boy.  By the time he was finished with his cake, there wasn't a spot on him that wasn't green.  Ha!  What fun!
You can see the gorilla cake on the table, and Jackson with his treetop.

At first, Jackson was leaning over in his chair, nearly asleep.  But you can tell that he's perked up at this point.  And this picture doesn't even begin to show what he looked like by the time he was finished.  Too bad I didn't get a good shot of him all green at the end.

Uncle Adam and Aunt Carmen got Jackson a swimming shirt and swimming trunks.....

..... And some bathtime books!

I love this picture of Adam's brother, Doug, little man Jackson, and Adam.  Some handsome boys!
